Dior’s Client Data Has Been Breached
Luxury French fashion brand Dior is the latest retail company to be hit by a cyber attack and Dior customers' personal information breached. The incident comes in the wake of a number of UK retailers, including M&S, Harrods and Co-op being hit by hackers.
Dior have said that no financial information, bank details, Iban or credit card details, was contained in the breached database. The full extent of the breach remains unclear, but the company is informing all the affected customers.
According to the message posted to Dior’s Korean website, the company first discovered the breach on May 7, and it is understood that contact information, purchase information and preference data is part of the compromised data by the hackers.
The company has sent messages to customers in China and South Korea to alert them that it has discovered that its internal systems had been hacked and the criminals have stolen customer data. Security teams at Dior, supported by unnamed external cyber security experts, continue to investigate.
The company has not yet confirmed the regions or nations where customers have been affected and no known hacking groups have yet claimed responsibility for this attack.
