Hackers Have Stolen US Insurance Customer Data
Cyber hackers have stolen personal data from a majority of insurance firm Allianz Life's 1.4 million customers in the US.
A hacker got on to the site on July 16, 2025, and gained access to a cloud-based CRM system used by Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America.
Allianz’s German parent company has said that the hackers obtained personally identifiable data related to the majority of Allianz Life's customers, financial professionals, and select Allianz Life employees.
Allianz has published the data breach in a legal filing with the attorney general in the US state of Maine, and so far they have not explained as to how many people had been affected.
The company has said it had taken action to control the hack and has contacted and explain the attack to the FBI.
According to the filing, the company is offering 2 years of identity theft restoration and credit monitoring through Kroll to those affected.
Allianz, with over 125 million customers globally, has confirmed that it is contacting and helping people hit by this data hack.
