Technical Issues Plague ChatGPT-5
The recent release of ChatGPT-5 was heralded by OpenAI as a landmark achievement in artificial intelligence language models. Promising improved contextual understanding, more natural dialogue, and advanced reasoning abilities, the upgrade was eagerly anticipated across education, customer service, programming, and creative writing sectors.
However, the initial optimism has been dampened by a surge of user reports highlighting technical and practical problems, with many claiming that ChatGPT-5 lags behind its predecessors on several fundamental fronts.
Performance & Stability Concerns
Since launch, thousands of users have taken to technical forums, such as Stack Overflow and OpenAI’s official Community platform, to highlight persistent performance issues. A common complaint is a marked increase in both latency and outright system outages, particularly during times of high usage. According to a report by The Register, some businesses have faced disruptions in client-facing applications after upgrading to the latest model, with API requests failing or returning error messages more frequently than before.
A web search initiated by AI produced this result. “We relied on the stability of ChatGPT-4 for our customer service bot,” said one user in an interview with TechRadar “ChatGPT-5 was supposed to be an improvement, but our team has received nearly triple the usual complaints about slow or dropped conversations in the first two weeks since switching.”
