And it has changed social interactions in unprecedented ways, shaping the way we live, work, connect and interact with one another and organisations.
Communication has been one of the most significant areas impacted by the Internet. The historic barriers of time and distance have been broken down, allowing instantaneous communication across the globe. Social media platforms, email, and messaging apps have enabled individuals to connect, share ideas, and maintain relationships effortlessly. And so the Internet has become an integral part of modern society, revolutionising the way we communicate, access information, and conduct business. It is a vast network of interconnected computers and servers that allows for the transfer and exchange of data across the globe.
The initial evolution of the Internet can be traced back to the 1960s, when it was originally developed as a means of communication between research institutions and government agencies. Over the years, the Internet has grown exponentially, with the advent of the World Wide Web in the 1990s and the subsequent proliferation of online services, social media platforms, and e-commerce.
