Cyber Security Malta is part of Malta's National Cyber Security Strategy which aims to establish a governance framework, combat cybercrime, strengthen national cyber defence and provide cyber security awareness and education.

One of the key goals of the National Cyber Security Strategy is a nation-wide cyber security awareness and education campaign for which MITA, under the direction of the NCSS Steering Committee within the remit of the Parliamentary Secretariat for Financial Services, Digital Economy and Innovation, has been entrusted to fulfil.
