The Joint Research Centre (JRC) is the European Commission's science and knowledge service which employs scientists to carry out research in order to provide independent scientific advice and support to EU policy.

The design of the new European digital society will require solid foundations, which can be built only ensuring the use of trusted and safe digital technologies, and guaranteeing a cybersecurity-by-design approach across all the layers of the new European digital space.
